My One Year Natural Anniversary

Yay to me! I have survived my very first year being completely kinky curly! Now I cannot lie, this first year has not been easy. I had some ups and downs with my hair and most importantly had to accept my new kinky texture! Acceptance was one of my biggest challenges this year. When I did my big chop a year ago I had no clue what to expect. After I cut it, it was so short and fro-ish. I have to say I was super relieved to finally cut off the damage and get that relaxed hair off my head. It was like a whole new world for me and it was amazing. However my hair had no curl pattern lol. I seen more curl pattern while I was transitioning. This discouraged me a lot back then. But now knowing what I know, it was all apart of the growing process. Regardless of what anyone said back then, I do not regret cutting my hair. It was one of the best decisions of my life. I love my natural hair and after a year in, i’m still figuring her out!  It has been an amazing journey and I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. I have set my natural hair goals I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish by next year. Congratulations to  me & my natural hair for a year of overcoming challenges and experiencing beautiful growth.
